What is the CMIT?

The CMIT stands for Campus Missionary in Training. This is our avenue for ministry development and training. The CMIT has three goals of training interns in Knowledge, Ministerial Skills, and Chi Alpha Proficiency. The CMIT will grow and stretch you as you work and learn and the Chi Alpha staff will be there for you every step of the way.

Knowledge

Northern Iowa Chi Alpha interns are given the opportunity to grow in knowledge of the Bible, leadership, theology, and ministry. This happens mostly through weekly classes and assignments. The internship year is designed to provide the knowledge that could be obtained through a Bible college and will have rigorous academic requirements.

Ministerial Skills

Northern Iowa Chi Alpha interns are given the opportunity to grow in their skills as a minister of the gospel. This will mostly happen through participating in the day to day “work of the ministry”. This includes a wide spectrum of responsibilities that prepare you for a future in ministry including growing in people skills, leadership, organization, public speaking, fund raising, and general aptitude as a minister.

Chi Alpha Proficiency

Northern Iowa Chi Alpha interns are given the opportunity to grow in their ability as a potential Chi Alpha minister. This will happen through small group discipleship, event planning, support raising and leadership development.

Why do a CMIT?

The CMIT is designed to give people an opportunity to explore what a future in ministry may look like while growing in skills that would help those interested in Chi Alpha ministry, church ministry, or missions. Also, the CMIT is an opportunity to serve the campuses of Northern Iowa while exploring what the next step in life may be.

The first step is to fill out the Northern Iowa Chi Alpha Internship Application below. This is due by February 1st!
